In the last week of July, our team visited the Pulaski Skyway site to witness the progress made on our project, which involves replacing the high-load truss bearings.
CHI Consulting Engineers has developed inventive and robust jacking frames, along with temporary supports, for the Pulaski Skyway to replace the existing steel bearings while prioritizing public safety. Successfully, a total of 4.6 million lbs of jacking force lifted the two trusses off the pier!
Visiting the site and seeing our designs in person was an enjoyable and educational experience for all team members, creating a memorable bonding opportunity as well.
